After the 2008 election, it almost feels like an admission of guilt.  

Between less-than-objective reporting in the media, self-inflicted damage brought on by the McCain-Palin team, a seated President who never really “got it” and the mean-spirited mutterings of the Republican Taliban – it was almost a relief to see Barack Obama win the election and for the GOP to descend into chaos.  Some of us lifelong Republicans held out hope for a cathartic “baptism-by-fire” and a reawaking of the sensible.

But leave it to the far-right wing of the Republican Party to view all of this as an opportunity for the condemnation of “the moderate middle” rather than a repudiation of 8+ years of NeoConservative balogna.

Well, I’ve had enough.

Hello world!

“Hello world!”

It’s the first post on every WordPress template when you fire it up.  It’s part of the programming for the service – WordPress graciously loads one post, one comment, a couple links here, an extra page there … all in the interest of showing the new blog owner just what his new public platform can do.

Well, all things considered, I thought it was an apt headline.
